Another kick ass night of great music and wonderful people!
SMILE MORE
Starting with a cool slightly eerie riff, the drummer rushed on and immediately took it up to 11 with those beats! Absolutely brilliant on the vocal side, I got some Polkadot Cadaver vibes but with a far heavier edge to it. Absolutely brilliant set, LOVE the stage outfits and makeup. Very much will be watching these guys closely!
SHADOW OF ICARUS
This lot were full of really kick ass riffs, and a lovely voice! The guitarist was brilliant, and they just had a great all round upbeat vibe to them. Everyone was up and about and having a great time!
ALYRIS
Wow. What a beautiful contrast in the voices, working so perfectly together! I got some almost Sharon from Within Temptation feel there, and could see that growing even more in the future. I couldn’t keep still during their set at all, lots of jumping around from everyone!
DEAD RUBBER DOLLS
Now THAT is a queen on stage! The vocalist not only had an insanely impressive voice, she was also all over the place! Headbanging with hair that long, and hitting those high notes, wow! There was almost a punky edge to them which I adore, and the on stage antics of the bassist especially did amuse me. Every member was giving their all, and you can just see how much fun they have. And just when I thought they couldn’t get better, she hopped off the stage and into a pit with the crowd!
Sadly Recreance had something happen and couldn’t take part at the last minute.
Tonight’s winners were SMILE MORE, ALYRIS, and DEAD RUBBER DOLLS! I’m looking forward to seeing more of them, and of course we will be keeping an eye on what Shadow of Icarus, and Recreance get up to as well!
